Online Class FAQ
I’ve never participated in a Zoom meeting. Can you help me with a test run?
We understand that a virtual class is new to many. If you would like to have a practice session, please email Julie@fabricmartfabrics.com to set up a private session.
I want to join the class but the date/time doesn’t work for me.
Most classes are recorded for future viewing. Recordings are shared with all paid participants. So if you cannot make it to the class, had trouble logging in or you need to re-watch something, it is there for you. The recordings are available for a limited period of time, per contracts with the teachers.
Most teachers are very willing to answer your questions by email if a questions arises while not in the Zoom session.
When will I receive the Zoom sign-in info?
You will receive all log-in info two days before the class.
What devices can I use to log-in to Zoom?
You can use a computer, tablet or mobile smartphone. It is helpful to have the microphone and video set up on your device so you can interact with the teacher and other students. You can phone in to the session and listen, but sewing is a visual practice and we strongly recommend logging in on a device that allows you to see what is going on. You do not need to have your microphone or video on when you join the session. You can mute yourself and hide yourself while in the session.
For help with setting up Zoom on your chosen device and any other questions having to do with Zoom, check out their site.
Is there a supply list?
Each class is different. Most lecture style events do not require a supply list. Hands-on classes will usually have a supply list.
How many people are allowed in a virtual class?
Each teacher and class subject is different. It will depend on the complexity of the class and the teacher's preference.
