Behind The Scenes | Employee Spotlight
In the spotlight today is our man of few words, Dan! Honestly Dan has one of the most labor intensive jobs here at Fabric Mart. One that is not for the faint of heart for sure. All day Dan walks up and down the three flights of stairs in our building, pulling all of the fabrics for your orders, and getting them ready to be cut and shipped out. So let's hear it for Dan everyone!
Here is what he had to say when we asked him a few questions...
Who are you? Tell us a little bit about yourself.
Daniel McCormack.
How long have you worked at Fabric Mart?
I have worked at Fabric Mart since 2018.
What are your main responsibilities? What do you do?
My primary responsibility is to pull fabric to be cut for internet orders.
What’s your favorite thing about working at Fabric Mart?
My favorite thing about working at Fabric Mart is the people I work with.
What question are you asked the most?
The most common question I get asked is "Do you know how much this fabric costs?". The next most common question is "What is the content of this fabric?".
Do you consider yourself crafty?
No I'm not crafty.
Favorite thing to do outside of work? Any hobbies?
My hobbies consist of Reading books and playing TTRPGs.
Do you collect anything?
I collect Swords.
What is a TV show you are currently binging?
I am currently binging the anime World Break: Aria of Curse for a Holy Swordsman.

Love these insights into the fabulous people who fill our orders. I have had the opportunity to go up to the second floor several times and I am amazed at how hard everyone is working – and how quickly that they ask if I need help. Of course, it is always better to touch and feel fabric, but I have had several employees check multiple fabric to match color – when I was on the phone. I don't think it was Aden, but I congratulate him for being part of a great team!

Nice to me all of you! I have been in the back several times. It is fun to poke around, I highly recommend it. Can’t wait for my next in-store visit!
I drove past Fabric Mart for a number of years before I realized it was actually a store . That was 20 or more years ago. It has been wonderful to see how the business has grown. The store has remarkable sales that will keep me sewing at a price I can afford. I wish I lived a bit closer to check it out more frequently . The staff have always been polite and friendly.

Thank you….Thank you….Thank you Dan for getting our fabrics to the cutting table. You must be in great physical condition. I know when I visited i made sure to only go up each flight of stairs once. LOL. You are truly an asset to the Fabric Mart team.
I visit the brick and morter store to shop and Dan is constantly in motion. He is always polite when we cross paths on the steps. Thank – you Dan !
